Android 2.2 Froyo hitting Nexus One… T-Mobile too?

By: t-marco June 28th, 2010

According with Engadget, some owners of the Nexus One, unlocked, are receiving notifications to update to Android 2.2 Froyo. FRF85. At the same time, some T-Mobile  users are reporting that they are getting also the update.  And now they’ve got a direct link to download a FRF85 build that’ll supposedly work for any Android build(included T-MO) . We can safely say that it worked for us on a T-Mobile device with 2.1 / ERE27. Download from Google here.

Tell us how is working for you guys!.

How does this work? Do you have to be rooted?

I've tried downloading it on my MyTouch Slide, and it does download, however, nothing happens once it's completed. I downloaded it from the above link on the phones internet browser. Is this the correct way to go about this?

I was wondering if I could get an answer to how this might work? What are the requirements to run this update?
