Google Buys Motorola Mobility for 12.5 Billion

By: t-marco August 15th, 2011

Google officials on Monday announced the $12.5 billion deal, which would transform the search engine into a cell manufacturer after years spent wading into the wireless business and critically intensify Washington scrutiny of a company already feeling antitrust heat.

Now Google Inc. now has an internal smartphone manufacturing division to further the march of its Android software platform as it vies with Apple Inc. for global smartphone supremacy.

David Drummond, chief legal officer at Google, said the company is “confident” the deal will be approved. The company has yet to spell out what kind of regulatory review it is expecting.

“We very strongly believe that this is a pro-competitive transaction,” Drummond said.

HTC Ruby, Samsung Galaxy S II and LG Flip II leaked pictures

By: t-marco August 8th, 2011

Well Well Well,  thanks to our friends of Pocketnow, we can clearly see that T-Mobile is not behind and it will get a Galaxy S II variant.  Tha Samsung Hercules aka Galaxy S II looks like a giant Nexus S, it will feature a 4.5 ” screen. It’s possible their version could come with Tegra 2 instead of Samsung’s Exynos processor.

Also, we have here a new HTC Android phone, aka Ruby, also hitting to T-Mobile USA.  At the beginning we though that this will be a new Windows Phone device, but now we can clearly see that it is an Android. It looks like a new version of one of the myTouch line up phones but without the G button, (genius). The HTC Ruby definitely will arrive at T-Mo this Q3.

The last one here is a new LG phone. This is the Flip II … where is the I? This dual screen Android phone will probably hit T-Mobile stores by September 14th.
