By: t-marco February 14th, 2011

As we expected, T-Mobile will launch its newest 4G HSPA+ Androi phone, Galaxy S 4G this Feb 23th . Instead of Walmart, that will sell the Galaxy S 4G for 148.88, T-Mobile decided to charge 149.99 with 2 years contract.

The Galaxy S 4G is very similar to the existing Samsung Vibrant, a popular Android phone. It has the same 1-GHz Cortex-A8 processor, runs Android 2.2 on a similar 4-inch Super AMOLED screen, and has the same 5-megapixel camera. But it also has a front-facing 1-megapixel camera for video chat, that 4G modem, and a larger 1650 mAh battery, all of which the Vibrant lacks. iPhone 5 and/or iPhone nano hitting T-Mobile USA this June?

By: t-marco February 14th, 2011

There are some high expectations about the new iPhone 5 or iPhone nano hitting T-Mobile and Sprint this spring.  The Wall Street Journal and their sources report that Apple is currently working on another iPhone (not the iPhone 5) that is apparently half the size of the current iPhone 4. Also, there are some rumors that it will be available for $200 off-contract, but will be compatible with all carriers (GSM and CDMA). Dubbed the iPhone Nano, it is expected to release sometime in June or July 2011.

The new iPhone will be half the size of the current model and could be available for as little as $49 on contract. Possibly including “voice navigation” feature as well, providing a more flushed-out catalog of voice commands

And the winner is ?… T-Mobile and the Samsung Galaxy S 4G (up to 10.34 Mbps)  ……,in second place? another  T-MO phone  the myTouch4G (6.18 Mbps) . Sprint  with its EVO Shift 4G got in third place with  3.37 Mbps.  Sorry iPhone 4 users ( Verizon and AT&T), you guys are stuck with 3G speeds.

I believe the last Nokia phone released by T-Mobile was the Nokia e73 and Nuron. After that, Nokia stopped launching new phone on T-Mo, specially after the mystery cancellation of the Nuron 2.  Finally T-Mobile is launching a new Nokia phone, but don’t get too excited. This is another low end phone, same as the Samsung T259.

T-Mobile is preparing the new Nokia X2 to be launch this Feb 16th. The Nokia X2 will feature a VGA camera, (ouch), full Qwerty physical keyboard, Stereo Bluetooth, MicroSD up to 16gb, Radio FM, and , it can make phone calls.

Samsung Galaxy S 4G, getting closer for the big launch day

By: t-marco February 8th, 2011

The Galaxy S 4G is expected as a refresh to the Samsung Vibrant on T-Mobile’s network. The Vibrant is a Galaxy S variant that launched as a 3G smartphone with its 1 GHz Hummingbird processor and 4-inch Super AMOLED display; the Galaxy S 4G is expected to succeed the Vibrant while adding support for the carrier’s 4G HSPA+ network.

Also, where the Vibrant comes pre-loaded with the movie “Avatar,” this phone will come with “Inception.”

Price? Walmart will sell the Galaxy S 4G for 148.88 with 2 years contract. We believe T-Mo will sell it for 149.99 or more.

By: t-marco February 7th, 2011

T-Mobile’s long rumored plan to buy some of Clearwire’s extensive spectrum is getting closer to completion. T-Mobile USA is the only potential bidder and the sale of the spectrum could happen by the end of the first quarter. At the same time, T-Mobile is gunning to leap frog Sprint and become the nation’s third largest carrier, something the company this week said they hoped would happen by 2015.

Building out an LTE network may cost between $1 billion and $2 billion, the company said. Chief Technology Officer Neville Ray said that T-Mobile will need a spectrum partner by 2014 or 2015.
